Best historical site in Providence  -  The Rhode Island State House has the fourth-largest self-supporting marble dome in the world. St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome is the largåest.

Best historical fact about Providence   -  Providence is steeped in history. It is arguably the birthplace of the American Revolutionary War, which commenced with the burning of the HMS Gaspee.

Best thing about your office   -  My colleagues.

Best lunch spot   -  Café Nuovo, which boasts outside seating along the Woonasquatucket River during the summer.

Best view   -  Prospect Terrace Park is a great place to get a bird’s-eye view of the city.

Best slice   -  Antonio’s on College Hill has some of the most eclectic and tasty pizza in Providence.

Out-of-town guests are impressed with   -  The restaurants. Providence has more degreed chefs per capita than any other city in the United States, and is nationally ranked for its restaurants.

Best arts venue   -  The Rhode Island School of Design’s Museum is a hidden gem featuring works by Manet, Monet, Degas, Cézanne, Rodin, Picasso and Matisse. The Providence Performing Arts Center and the Trinity Repertory Company also host fantastic musicals, concerts and plays.

Weekend getaway   -  Newport has an immense amount to offer. You can eat at some of the finest restaurants while overlooking the water, go to one of the many beaches or sail the day away. I would also recommend checking out Block Island.

Best city event   -  WaterFire is an award-winning installation of [more than 80] bonfires along the city’s downtown rivers. During the spring, summer and fall, bonfires are lit in large iron pans in the center of the rivers and kept burning throughout the evening as visitors stroll along the brick riverside walkways while listening to music, sampling local food and watching street performers.
