I can’t go a day without … a hug from my preschooler.

My colleagues would be surprised to know that … both of my dogs are named after characters in Jane Austen novels. They are very dignified wiener dogs.

My most bizarre talent is … tap dancing. At least I think I can still do that.

My courtroom walk-up music would be … “America’s Sweetheart” by Elle King.

When I win a case, I celebrate by … having a glass of champagne with my husband at Carriage House Wines, this adorable wine shop down the street from my office.

The SCOTUS justice I’d like to meet is … Justice Antonin Scalia. He lived such a colorful life, and I found his friendship with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg fascinating.

My favorite Instagram is … Loubie, the dog who hugs people on the streets of New York. I think he could negotiate world peace.

I can’t believe more people haven’t read … The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen.  What’s not to love about an uplifting novel set in the Blue Ridge Mountains?

I can do a pretty good impersonation of … no one. My attempts at impressions generally just sound like a very poor approximation of Borat, regardless of who I am actually trying to impersonate.

My fictional hero is … Sarah Connor from Terminator 2: Judgment Day. She’s tough as nails.

My real-life hero is … my grandmother. As a very young woman, she came to the United States from Germany and taught herself English by watching Braves baseball games. She was tough as nails in her own right.

My worst previous job was … working in a bagel shop as a teenager. I was there before the sun even thought of rising and went home every day smelling like an everything bagel.

The most fascinating person I ever met is … Erik Sprague, “The Lizardman.” Need I say more?

My motto is … “The future is not set. There’s no fate but what we make.” OK, I just stole that from Sarah Connor.

The craziest thing I witnessed in a courtroom is … a criminal defendant testifying in the narrative (first red flag) that he did not need that knife to kidnap his estranged girlfriend, because his size alone was scary enough. He was convicted, of course.

If I weren’t a lawyer, I’d be … an author typing away in a cozy library with my trusty dachshunds sleeping at my feet (and not begging for treats).

My earliest memory is … using my parents’ junk mail to set up a pretend travel agency in my bedroom.

My favorite song lyric is … “All right stop, collaborate and listen.” Sound advice for anyone.

The three people I’d invite to dinner are … Jim Gaffigan, J.K. Rowling and J-Law.

The book I just don’t get is … Crime and Punishment. Are we still subjecting students to this book?

Nothing cheers me up like … watching a rerun of The Office (U.S.).

My nickname is … Skittlez. Don’t ask.
