Thomas W. Carey is driven to protect the rights of clients injured by the negligence of others. He handles a wide variety of personal injury cases, including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, catastrophic injury, wrongful death and funeral home malpractice. He is certified by the National Board of Legal Specialty Certification and The Florida Bar’s Board of Legal Specialization and Education in civil trial law. As senior partner of Carey & Leisure, Mr. Carey accepts clients in Clearwater, Florida, and in Pasco, Pinellas and Hernando counties.

Mr. Carey has a special interest in representing victims hurt in alcohol-related accidents, having tragically lost his wife to a drunk driver. He is actively involved in Mothers Against Drunk Driving and is the past president of the organization's Pinellas County Chapter. Mr. Carey is also co-founder of Remove Intoxicated Drivers in Tampa Bay.

After receiving a Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown University in 1972, Mr. Carey earned his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School in 1978, graduating cum laude. He went on to earn a Master of Laws degree in 1979, majoring in taxation, from New York University School of Law. Mr. Carey is licensed to practice law in Florida, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and is admitted before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the U.S. Tax Court.

A strong commitment to legal ethics and quality representation has earned Mr. Carey the respect of his peers.
