Profile

Marc J. Lane is the president and founder of the Law Offices of Marc J. Lane in Chicago, Illinois. A Master Registered Financial Planner, Registered Financial Counselor and certified investment specialist as well as an attorney, he provides services in estate planning and administration, tax law, and business and corporate law to clients throughout the state.

Among his many accomplishments and awards, Mr. Lane has been recognized by his peers as an AV Preeminent attorney* as well as a Leading Illinois Attorney. He has also been selected for inclusion to the Illinois Super Lawyers list more than five times, most recently in 2011.

Mr. Lane is a nationally recognized figure in both the legal and financial industries. A leader in his field, he is an active member of several organizations, including the National Association of Securities Dealers Inc., the American Association of Retired Persons Legal Services Network, the Illinois chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, the International Trade Association of Greater Chicago and the Chicago Council of Lawyers, among many others.

In addition to his legal and financial consulting activities,Mr. Laneis a professor of law and mentor at his alma mater, Northwestern University School of Law. He is Chairman of the State of Illinois Task Forceon Social Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Enterprise, as appointed by Governor Pat Quinn. He has authored 34 books and regularly gives lectures and seminars on business, taxation and personal finance.
