Profile
After many years of practicing family law, and having seen the emotional and financial damage that litigation can cause, I have chosen to focus on assisting divorcing couples restructure their lives in healthier ways. Collaborative Practice offers the couple a viable alternative to traditional methods of divorce allowing them to make decisions which address the particular needs of their family. Through the Collaborative process, I help my clients reach a mutually acceptable, durable agreement with their spouses by focusing on the hope of the future and not the pain of the past. Collaboration has created the unique and valuable opportunity to team with other Collaborative attorneys, skilled mental health and financial professionals to help families find the best options for resolving the issues of most importance to them. In addition to practicing collaboratively, I am a trained mediator and assist clients in other forms of settlement advocacy. I am the Founding President of the Collaborative Divorce Association, Inc. and of the Maryland Collaborative Practice Council. I recently was asked to Co-Chair the Montgomery County Bar Association Collaborative Law Section. The Section is the first of its kind in the State of Maryland.
