In 1987, Mr. Metzen received a Bachelor of Science in criminalistics and forensic science from Michigan State University. He went on to earn a Juris Doctor in 1991 from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, where he was ranked first in his class. As a law student, Mr. Metzen was the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award twice for earning the highest grades in his civil procedure course and his torts course.
