Ryan has developed a reputation as an accomplished trial attorney.  He has successfully tried cases ranging from DWI, to sophisticated white-collar crime, to homicide. His detailed investigation into the facts of his clients' cases, new and creative approaches to a defense, and a persuasive analysis of the law have resulted in highly successful outcomes.  In 2011 and 2012, Ryan acquitted clients in cases ranging from DWI, to a national interest First Amendment victory, to recent jury trial "not guilty verdicts" in cases ranging from Felony Disarming a Peace Officer to First Degree Assault and First Degree Burglary.  Ryan is licensed in state and federal court, and practices with the Federal Defender Second Chair Program, as well as argues cases before the Minnesota Court of Appeals.  He is the co-editor the Challenger, the official publication of the Minnesota Society of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and a Board Member of the Criminal Divison of the Minnesota State Bar Association.  Ryan is grateful to his colleagues to have named him to the Rising Stars list in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
