Arthur L. Aidala

In his capacity as the managing partner of the Aidala, Bertuna & Kamins, PC law firm, Arthur Aidala oversees every aspect of the practice, including all of the criminal cases, civil litigation, and corporate matters. 

Mr. Aidala has more than twenty-five years experience in the area of criminal law. He has represented hundreds of privately retained clients in both Federal and State courts in jurisdictions throughout the country. He has handled complicated matters on behalf of his clients involving all aspects of white collar crime, including allegations of securities fraud, accounting and bank fraud, RICO violations, bribery, bid-rigging, extortion, and embezzlement. Individuals, corporations and companies of varied sizes have retained Mr. Aidala regarding investigations and prosecutions by the Securities and Exchange Commission, FINRA, and the U.S. Department of Justice.

Among the highlights of his trial cases are:

• Successful defense of NFL Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor in Federal Court 
• Obtaining a full acquittal of William Rapetti in the New York City crane collapse case 
• Securing a mistrial of real estate developer Abe Hirshfeld in his “Murder for Hire” case. 

In addition to his trial work, Mr. Aidala has handled appeals in the United States Circuit Court of Appeals, as well as the New York State Appellate Division for the 1st and 2nd Departments.

Since 2012, his peers have acknowledged Mr. Aidala as one of the top criminal defense attorneys in the New York Metropolitan area, as reported in Super Lawyers Magazine.

On-air Television and Radio Legal Analyst

Mr. Aidala has appeared on every show of the two FOX channels on a regular basis, analyzing the most current and compelling cases in our nation. He reported regularly on the shooting and riots in Ferguson, Missouri, the Baltimore police officer trial and the Boston Marathon terrorist bombing. He was chosen as the attorney to be live on the air for the verdicts in the prosecutions of Michael Jackson, O.J. Simpson, Casey Anthony, Jerry Sandusky, and Jodi Arias, amongst others. Mr. Aidala also reported live on decisions by the United States Supreme Court as they were handed down, such as the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act, Second Amendment rights and same-sex marriage.

Mr. Aidala’s legal commentary can often be heard on the radio as well as television. He has been a recurrent guest on the Imus in the Morning Show, the Joe Piscopo Show, the Geraldo Rivera show, the John Gambling show, the Bernie and Sid and ‘Radio Night Live’ with Kevin McCullough to name a few.

Mr. Aidala hosts a daily 6PM local radio show on AM970 The Answer.  The Arthur Aidala Power Hour radio show blends Arthur’s courtroom experiences with his perspective as a lifetime New Yorker riding the subways, eating at our local restaurants, enjoying the theater, sports events, and more. The show is a mix of timely news and current events from a legal perspective. Arthur combines compelling discussions with high-profile guests and everyday folks calling in, and a round-up of discussions on various topics from tri-state politics, New York City lifestyle and entertainment, health, wellness, and more. 

Kings County District Attorneys Office,  Senior Assistant District Attorney

Mr. Aidala tried dozens of felony cases to verdict during the most crime-ridden period in New York City’s history. After swiftly advancing through the ranks of the Office, Mr. Aidala was promoted to a senior trial attorney after only two years as a prosecutor. He convicted some of the most heinous criminals on the streets of New York for crimes such as rape, robbery, burglary, gun possession, drug sales, and murder. Mr. Aidala also secured the first murder conviction under a new state statute whereby the defendant was sentenced to prison for life without the possibility of parole.

In addition to perfecting and arguing appeals at the Appellate Division for the Office, he was a Bureau Supervisor in the Investigations and Intake Bureaus.
