Alfred J. Carlson is a partner at Martin Banks and has been a litigator in Pennsylvania workers' compensation law since passing the bar in 1992. For the first seven years of his practice, Mr. Carlson worked at a leading defense firm in Philadelphia, representing international corporations, major insurance companies and state and local government agencies in Pennsylvania workers' compensation cases. Mr. Carlson was recruited by the partners of the firm in 2000 to represent injured workers in Pennsylvania and protect their rights.

In addition to maintaining an active caseload, he lectures extensively in the area of Pennsylvania workers' compensation law. He has also published numerous articles on the subject.

Mr. Carlson serves as Co-Chair of the Workers' Compensation Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association and served as the legislative liaison for the Philadelphia Bar Association's Workers' Compensation Section. He was elected to the Board of Directors for the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association in June 2010.
