Ms. Axelrod is the President of the Firm. She provides appellate and brief writing services and primarily represents individuals and businesses in their real estate and business disputes. She is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey's state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels, and has been admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States. She has tried cases in both civil and bankruptcy courts and her briefs have been published. On March 2, 2004, Ms. Axelrod appeared on television (Channel CFN) as a leading speaker on the Superior Court of Pennsylvania program entitled "Pennsylvania Appellate Practice". She is President-Elect of the Temple Law Alumni Association (TLAA) and the 2009 recipient of TLAA's Distinguished Service Award. In 2010, she was appointed by the Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association to serve on the Investigative Division of the Commission on Judicial Selection and Retention and to serve as Chair of the Law Practice Management Committee.
Ms. Axelrod was the winner of the 1992 Samuel J. Polsky Moot Court Competition. Upon graduation from Temple Law School, she clerked for the Honorable Sandra Mazer Moss and has practiced at such prestigious law firms as McCarter & English LLP and Blank Rome LLP. While Ms. Axelrod's native language is English, she also speaks Spanish and represents Spanish-speaking individuals and business owners. As a young lawyer, Ms. Axelrod was elected to the Executive Committee of the Young Lawyers Division of the Philadelphia Bar Association in which she co-chaired the Michael K. Smith Oratorical Contest for children. She regularly volunteered her time to coach high school mock trial teams, and in 2000 and 2001, coached the Overbrook High School Mock Trial Teams to the Regional Championships of the John S. Bradway High School Mock Trial Competition. More than one-third of Overbrook High School students do not graduate from high school. However, every Overbrook High School student Ms. Axelrod coached graduated from high school and all but 1 student she coached went on to college.
Ms. Axelrod is a Cabinet member of Congreso's Cultivando Futuros Campaign whose goal is to increase the percentage of Philadelphia's Latino high school and college graduates.
