Jonas B. Bednarek

Jonas B. Bednarek contributes to the mission of Hurley Burish, S.C., as he guides clients through the criminal justice system. With more than 20 years of experience, he welcomes clients throughout Wisconsin and provides services intended to protect their rights. His practice of criminal defense law focuses on people who are confronted with serious criminal - misdemeanors or felonies. As an appeals lawyer, he works to keep families and clients informed as he navigates the process to get convictions overturned.

Since entering the legal profession in 2000, Mr. Bednarek has worked exclusively as the representative of criminal defendants. Admitted to practice before state courts of Wisconsin, he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.

Mr. Bednarek's path to a legal career began at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and political science in 1995. He then went on to study law at The Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School, which awarded him a Juris Doctor in 1999. He became admitted to practice in Wisconsin the next year.

Mr. Bednarek stays connected to the legal community through memberships in multiple professional organizations. He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Dane County Bar Association.
