Amy Stewart is an experienced, AV-rated lawyer, who handles complex insurance coverage litigation, bad faith litigation and other complex commercial litigation. Amy's insurance coverage litigation practice focuses on executive and professional liability policies (directors & officers liability; fiduciary liability; professional liability - architects, engineers, lawyers, securities broker/dealers, and bankers; errors & omissions; and employment practices liability). In addition, Amy has experience handling coverage disputes arising from commercial property policies, commercial general liability (CGL) policies, builders risk policies, long-term disability policies and homeowners policies. She regularly advises her clients regarding the existence and scope of coverage, issues of policy interpretation, claims handling matters and claim resolution, primarily with respect to litigation against directors and officers (including securities fraud litigation under state and federal laws, ERISA litigation, shareholder derivative claims and governmental investigations).
Engaged early, Amy is often able to help her clients avoid litigation through strategic pre-suit negotiations. In those cases that cannot be resolved without litigation, Amy is an effective advocate in the courtroom, able to master the facts, sort through the complexities, streamline the evidence to tell a compelling story, and leverage the strengths of the case to chieve the best possible outcome.
Complementing her litigation practice, Amy also mediates complex insurance coverage disputes.
