Serving clients in the Houston and Galveston areas, Tony Buzbee is the managing attorney of The Buzbee Law Firm located in Houston, Texas. With over 25 years of experience practicing law, he serves as a fierce defender for those who have suffered injuries or lost a loved one due to the negligence of another party. He also takes on cases related to business litigation and transportation and maritime matters.
In addition to being an attorney, Mr. Buzbee is also the proprietor of a number of successful retail establishments, office complexes and hotels. He has built a successful litigation business and is well-known for representing clients in high-profile cases including toxic torts and environmental damage, burn injuries, marine and railroad accidents, industrial accidents, wrongful deaths and class actions.
Mr. Buzbee, a former U.S. Marine Corps captain who was honored with the Navy Commendation Medal, brings the same focus on strategy and persistence to the courtroom that he did on the battlefield.
After his undergraduate degree, Mr. Buzbee started his career in the military, where he was an honor graduate for having the highest leadership score out of 200 other Marine lieutenants. After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps while the Persian Gulf and Somalia conflicts were going on, he attended law school.
With a bachelor’s degree in psychology, Mr. Buzbee graduated from Texas A&M University. He pursued his legal studies at the University of Houston Law Center and received his Juris Doctor in 1997. In law school, he was the managing editor of the Houston Law Review and graduated summa cum laude. Moreover, he was inducted into the Order of the Coif, the Order of the Barristers and the Order of the Barons.
The Texas Aggie Bar Association named Mr. Buzbee to the Aggie Lawyer of the Year list, and he has an Avvo rating of 10/10. He has been featured on the cover of The New York Times Magazine and is the subject of a biography titled "Tony Buzbee: Defining Moments" by Michael Lee Lanning. He is a frequent CLE seminar speaker and adjunct professor, as well as a guest lecturer at the University of Houston Law Center.
