Priscilla Frisby on kind-of-drunk defendants, her love of music and why she doesn’t argue with fools

My nickname is … Prisi or Frisby.
I can’t go a day without … music.
If you were in my office, you’d … probably get hot—I keep it warm. But you would definitely enjoy the view of downtown Tucson.
The lawyers I most admire are … Jesus Romo Vejar and Isabel Garcia for their passion and dedication to fighting for justice, especially for minorities; as well as Jim Nesci, the DUI guru.
When I started, I wish I knew … that it was OK not to know everything.
If I weren’t a lawyer, I’d be … a court interpreter. Spanish is my first language and I am a qualified court interpreter.
When I win a case, I celebrate by … usually getting right back to work.
I almost quit the law because … my dad almost died during my first semester in law school. I was going to withdraw and re-enroll, but it was too late in the semester to get tuition reimbursement and not hurt my grade-point average. Plus, my dad wanted me to continue in school, so I stuck it out.
The SCOTUS justice I’d like to meet is … Sonia Sotomayor, because she is an inspiration to me as a Mexican female.
A different practice area that intrigues me is … immigration law.
My most bizarre talent is … a weird ability to remember phone numbers after hearing them only once or twice—although it was way better when I was younger.
The talent I wish I had is … to speak any language.
The craziest thing I witnessed in a courtroom is … a judge asked an out-of-custody defendant, “Are you drunk right now?” and the defendant answered, “Not really.” PBT came back 0.08 BAC.
My earliest memory is … playing with my cousins at my grandma’s house.
My favorite song lyric is … “A wise man told me, don’t argue with fools/ Cause people from a distance can’t tell who is who”—”Takeover” by JAY-Z.
The three people I’d invite to dinner are … my father, Tia Martha and Tio Fausto—family members who have passed away.
If I had a morning show, my co-host would be … Jay Leno. But we would make it a late-night show because I am not a morning person.
The last TV show I binge-watched was … Black Mirror on Netflix.
If I had a time machine, I would … go back to before my dad got Alzheimer’s and pick his brain a lot more than I did.
My favorite word is … yes/sí.
My least-favorite word is … I don’t have any. Every word exists to express something.
The most annoying thing about my job is … when I’m not given an opportunity to speak.
My courtroom walk-up song would be … “Numb/Encore” by JAY-Z and Linkin Park.
My motto is … “Everything happens for a reason.”
