If you were in my office, you’d … be impressed by all of the colorful, vibrant art.
My colleagues would be surprised to know that … I ride a dirt bike.
The lawyer I most admire is … Meshach Rhoades. I have the privilege of working with her daily and am constantly impressed by her drive, grace, wit and talent.
The quality I most like in a lawyer is … integrity.
When I started, I wish I knew … that it’s not that serious. And people who take
themselves too seriously are, well, kinda funny.
If I weren’t a lawyer, I’d be … a floral designer or event planner. I love creating a beautiful bouquet or dinner party. I have also planned many bar association and foundation galas and enjoy watching them come together.
The SCOTUS justice I’d like to meet is … Sonia Sotomayor.
The SCOTUS decision I’d overturn is … the list is growing, but Citizens United is one of the most harmful pieces of modern jurisprudence. That decision put our democracy up for sale to the highest bidder.
A different practice area that intrigues me is … criminal defense.
The talent I wish I had is … to sing well. But lack of talent doesn’t stop me from the occasional karaoke outing.
My motto is … “do what you can and the rest takes care of itself.” My mom used to tell me that. When a situation feels like it requires more than you have to give, you do what you can and things have a way of working themselves out.
My earliest memory is … dancing with the vacuum to ’80s pop. Not much has changed.
My favorite podcast is … Small Town Murder. Comedy meets true crime.
If I had a morning show, my co-host would be … my brother. We are pretty funny together.
The last TV show I binge-watched was … The Lincoln Lawyer. Typical.
Nothing cheers me up like … cross-genre song covers or remixes. I heard one recently that was the vocals from Paramore’s “Decode” to the beat of Luniz’s “I Got 5 on It.”
If I had a time machine, I would … travel to the Tenochtitlan, pre-Columbus.
My favorite word is … “ostracize,” thanks to my third grade teacher Mrs. Feeley and The Weighty Word Book.
If I won the lottery I’d … disappear.
My courtroom walk-up song would be … “Unstoppable” by The Score.
