He's a Sharp-Dressed Attorney ... Except for that One Time

My colleagues would be surprised to know that … I was in the show choir in high school.

My most embarrassing moment as a lawyer was … having to unexpectedly appear in a criminal court bond hearing for a family member while on vacation. Unfortunately, I did not pack my courtroom attire, and had to show up in jeans, old dirty sneakers and a second-hand dress shirt. Thankfully, the presiding judge was very understanding. 

My career high point (so far) has been … getting my family member released on his own recognizance while wearing the aforementioned attire.

When I win a case, I celebrate by … enjoying a craft IPA or bourbon on the rocks.

If I weren’t a lawyer, I’d be … the fifth Impractical Joker. I am known for my pranks. My all-time favorite is one I pulled in high school. All of the classrooms had televisions, so I got a universal remote. In class I would synchronize the remote with each TV, and turn on something funny, like Jerry Springer or a bowling tournament. Despite the school’s “investigation,” no one ever figured it out. Most teachers gave up and left their televisions unplugged. 

On weekends I … can be found on outdoor adventures with my fiancé, playing fetch with our dog, cooking or attempting to lower my golf handicap. 

My worst previous job was … washing dishes at a truck-stop diner. 

My courtroom walk-up music would be … “Sharp Dressed Man” by ZZ Top. 

The qualities I most like in a lawyer are … eagerness to learn and empathy.
