The SCOTUS decision I’d overturn is … would you accept a string cite? No? Fine. Then, Citizens United.
If you were in my office, you’d … be surprised by how much we laugh.
When I was a newbie lawyer I … thought the sky was falling.
When I started, I wish I knew … that the sky can’t really fall.
Nothing cheers me up like … cake; specifically, eating the frosting off a cake.
My guilty pleasure is … see above re: cake/frosting.
The quality I most like in a lawyer is … in opposing counsel? Not being a jerk. In my colleagues? Not being a jerk.
I can’t believe more people haven’t read … Exit West by Mohsin Hamid. I have recommended it to everyone I know and, for a lucky few, have given it as a gift.
If I weren’t a lawyer, I’d be … a baker.
A different practice area that intrigues me is … is baking law a thing?
The SCOTUS justice I’d like to meet is … Please. Is there really any question? Justice Ginsburg.
On weekends I … try to work out as seriously as Justice Ginsburg does.
My most bizarre talent is … having an insane memory.
The talent I wish I had is … not having such an insane memory. Good for remembering case law, bad for forgiving and forgetting.
The craziest thing I witnessed in a courtroom is … a juror clipping his fingernails in the jury box during testimony (yuck).
I wish I had invented … Netflix. I mean, I definitely thought of this in college and just didn’t bother to do anything about it.
The last TV show I binge-watched was … The OA. Now streaming on my brainchild, Netflix.
If I had a morning show, my co-host would be … national treasure Chrissy Teigen. I’d have to meet her first, though.
The question I wish people would stop asking is … “No, but where are you originally from?” When I tell you I’m from Minnesota, say something like, “I love Minnesota!” I’ll also accept comments about Prince, wild rice, snow, and/or the lakes.
I can’t go a day without … texting with my dad. He’s the best.
