I can’t go a day without … coffee, and lots of it!
My colleagues would be surprised to know that … I once was terrified of public speaking. It wasn’t until I was pushed to give a speech in college that I finally got over my fear.
The lawyer I most admire is … my father-in-law. After law school, he returned to his small hometown in East Tennessee to build a successful law practice and also give back to his community. He was fierce but caring; intelligent beyond belief, but not arrogant. And his stories would keep you on the edge of your seat.
The quality I most like in a lawyer is … courtesy.
If I weren’t a lawyer, I would love to be a … sports reporter.
My real-life hero is … my dad. He spent most of his life as a farmer and was hands-down the hardest worker I have ever known. He never met a stranger and treated everyone with kindness and respect, no matter their means or background. He was also my biggest cheerleader and made me believe that, if you work hard and set your mind to something, good things will happen.
On most weekends I … can be found at the baseball fields watching my boys play. And, never fails, I’m sitting next to the loudest person there … my husband.
One of my most memorable experiences was … working as a White House intern in First Lady Hillary Clinton’s office.
I get angry when … people are late.
I wish I had invented … the Under the Weather SportsPod. Seriously the BEST invention ever for sports parents!
Nothing cheers me up like … my family. No matter how rough a day I’ve had, they put things in perspective and keep it real.
If I had a morning show, my co-host would be … Peyton Manning.
If I won the lottery, I’d … buy a horse farm. I grew up competitively showing horses and someday I hope to pick it back up.
My favorite meal … crab cakes from The Red Bar on Grayton Beach.
My guilty pleasure is … a Sonic Diet Coke with extra crunchy ice.
My courtroom walk-up music would be … “Rocky Top.” (Go Vols!)
A different practice area that intrigues me is … sports law.
If you were in my office … you would probably be sweating, as I like to keep the thermostat cranked to about 80 degrees.
The talent I wish I had is … photography.
If I had a time machine … I would go back to my childhood and soak up the stories from my grandparents. Both sets grew up in rural East Tennessee, and their stories were priceless. Unfortunately,
I didn’t appreciate their stories like I should have and would love to have a redo.
