Memories of West Texas

W. Bradley Parker grew up in West Texas, moving to the Dallas area with his mom and siblings after his parents divorced while he was in middle school. 

“I may have picked up a little bit of city-slicker polish along the way, but my love for West Texas has always stayed with me,” says Parker, a personal injury plaintiff’s lawyer at Parker Law Firm Injury Lawyers. “Eventually, I found my sweet spot in Fort Worth—a place that feels like the best of both worlds, blending cowboy heritage with modern city life.”

For years, Parker had visions of putting a windmill in front of his office as a tribute to his home region. “One day, while driving through Lampasas, I saw these cast aluminum steers being sold at a local market, and it just clicked,” he says. “I thought, ‘What better companion for a windmill than a few steers?’”

So he bought three steers and a windmill, and set them up outside his Fort Worth headquarters. “Over time, it’s become a bit of a local landmark. Families stop by so their kids can take photos ‘riding’ the steers, and the community has embraced them so warmly that someone even anonymously dropped off a water trough to make sure the steers never go thirsty,” Parker says. “It’s a small reminder of where I came from, and it has been really meaningful to share that with others.”
