Mark D. Kamitomo

A well-respected attorney throughout the United States and working as of counsel at Luvera Law firm, Mark D. Kamitomo represents clients in Spokane and elsewhere who have been victims of medical malpractice, nursing home negligence and defective products. Additionally, he handles matters pertaining to corporate wrongdoing, wrongful death, and insurance and government misconduct. 

An enthusiastic defender of personal injury victims, Mr. Kamitomo goes beyond what is needed to achieve the results his clients desire. He devises strategies uniquely suited to each individual and tackles every problem with the sheer determination to overcome them. The Washington State Association for Justice recognized him with its Trial Lawyer of the Year award in 2010, and he has been included on The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100 list. For more than 30 years, Mr. Kamitomo has helped secure numerous multimillion-dollar verdicts for his clients, including a $9.5 million verdict for an anesthesia error resulting in brain damage and a loss of an arm as well as a $16 million verdict for a high school football player who suffered damages due to a defective helmet. As a result, he is a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum.

Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta, Mr. Kamitomo attended the Gonzaga University Law School and received his Juris Doctor degree in 1989. He is licensed to practice in Washington, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Texas, Oregon and Arizona. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th and 9th Circuits, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Mr. Kamitomo is professionally affiliated with a plethora of prominent legal organizations, including the Washington State Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, the American Bar Association and the Asian Bar Association. He is a former president of the Washington State Association for Justice and is on its board of governors, and he holds memberships in the Damage Attorney’s Round Table, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and the American Board of Trial Advocates.
