Mr. Rifkin has nearly 20 years of experience representing clients in complex matrimonial and litigation cases, business and entertainment matters, and other intricate personal and contractual relationships. Mr. Rifkin is an adjunct professor of law at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and at Michigan State University College of Law. He is recognized by his peer lawyers in Michigan as one of the premier family law attorneys in the state, having been named in DBusiness Magazine’s Top Lawyers, 2009-2010, Michigan Super Lawyers 2008-2011, and Martindale-Hubbell’s Peer Review Rating AV Preeminent™ 5.0 out of 5 for each of the last nine years, which is the highest possible rating of legal ability and ethical standards, as established by confidential opinions from members of the Michigan Bar. Mr. Rifkin has tried cases to judges and juries in federal and state courts throughout Michigan, and he has successfully represented clients in courts in Michigan, Illinois, California, and Colorado.
Mr. Rifkin graduated with Distinction from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and as a member of the Honors College. After attending the University of Michigan Medical School for a year, Mr. Rifkin went on to the University of Michigan Law School, where he won the Henry M. Campbell Moot Court Competition and taught legal research and writing, winning an award as the year's outstanding legal research and writing instructor.
