Favorite watering hole  –  Chelsea Tavern.

Favorite building  –  Delaware Supreme Court. When an attorney passes the Delaware Bar, the attorney’s name is engraved on a small brass placard attached to a wooden panel mounted to the wall alongside the door to the court.

Best restaurant​​​​​​​  –  La Fia. The food is amazing!

Weekend getaway​​​​​​​  –  Rehoboth Beach.

Favorite historical fact about Wilmington​​​​​​​  –  Delaware was the first state to ratify the U.S. Constitution in 1787.

Saddest historical fact about Wilmington​​​​​​​  –  Lack of diversity and inclusion.

Favorite historical site​​​​​​​  –  Historic New Castle.

Favorite city event​​​​​​​  –  Point-to-Point is a Delaware signature event in the Brandywine Valley and is similar to the Kentucky Derby.

Favorite historical resident​​​​​​​  –  Louis Redding, Esquire. Mr. Redding was the first African-American to be admitted to the Delaware Bar and was part of the NAACP legal team that challenged school segregation in Brown v. Board of Education.

Where to go after a win?​​​​​​​  –  Tonic.

Where to go after a loss?​​​​​​​  –  Home sweet home.

Favorite breakfast spot​​​​​​​  –  Hotel du Pont’s Green Room. The scrambled eggs with smoked salmon is delicious. 

Favorite local beer​​​​​​​  –  Shirley Temple on the rocks. I don’t drink!

Go-To arts venue​​​​​​​  –  Winterthur Museum and Gardens.

Best place for people watching​​​​​​​  –  Harry’s Seafood Grill has a nice riverside patio.

Favorite local shop​​​​​​​  –  UDairy Creamery makes the best premium homemade ice cream. It is a local shop run by University of Delaware students.

Favorite coffee shop​​​​​​​  –  Brew Ha Ha! has some great handcrafted artisan coffee.

Favorite pizza joint​​​​​​​  –  Pizza by Elizabeths. Simply amazing food and great ambience, too.

Place to take out-of-town guests​​​​​​​  –  Longwood Gardens.

Favorite city law​​​​​​​  –  Delaware does not impose a state or local sales tax.

Weirdest city law​​​​​​​  –  No person shall pretend to sleep on a bench on the boardwalk. 

Best view​​​​​​​​​​​​​​  –  Any Delaware beach at sunset.
