Discovery with Samara Nazir

My nickname is … Samurai, which was given to me by my brother-in-law. I choose to believe it’s because I display courage, veracity and discipline, and has little to do with him overhearing a mispronunciation of my name.

I can’t go a day without … coffee. I have tried. The result was not favorable.

If you were in my office, you’d … laugh at the fact that the very large DIY clock on my wall is unintentionally frozen at 5:00 because I broke the quartz. 

The quality I most like in a lawyer is … perseverance.

If I weren’t a lawyer, I’d be … an interior decorator or event planner.

I almost quit the law because … I was struggling to maintain a work-life balance. I am truly thankful to my mentors who encouraged and supported me to continue practicing.  

My favorite Twitter feed is … @TEDTalks.

My motto is … take a breath, smile and just keep moving forward.  

The best meal I ever had was … the Nashville hot fried chicken and waffle sandwich at Bruxie. It’s worth the trip to Las Vegas just to try it. 

I wish I had invented … Amazon.

The last TV show I binge-watched was … Battlestar Galactica.

Nothing cheers me up like … a bad dad-joke competition: What do you call a pony with a cough? A little hoarse.

My guilty pleasure is … chocolate paired with a good binge-watch.

My favorite word is … ‘perspective’ because your perspective can change your reality.

The app I can’t live without … is Maps. I’ve gotten lost in Restoration Hardware—no joke.
