Best place to take a client – Carmella’s, an Italian Bistro—the best Italian around.
Local beverage of choice – Any of the seasonal brews from Titletown Brewing Company in Green Bay.
Favorite sports bar – Stadium View in Green Bay.
Best restaurant – Plae Bistro in Green Bay. Their atmosphere and pecan-encrusted walleye cannot be beat!
Weekend getaway – Door County—so close, yet it can feel like a world away.
Favorite city event – Mile of Music—a four-day event held in downtown Appleton each summer featuring hundreds of live sets in dozens of venues.
Favorite historical resident – Harry Houdini. He spent his early years in Appleton, before escaping …
Where to go after a win – As an estate planner, I generally avoid wins and losses, but any excuse to celebrate calls for a margarita at Sangria’s Mexican Grill, next to our office.
Favorite thing about your office besides the people – The unlimited supply of fun-size candy bars.
Favorite breakfast spot – Nicolet Restaurant in De Pere. Their Farmer’s Feed scramble and homemade bread always hit the spot.
Favorite lunch spot – Basil Café—the best Thai and Vietnamese food in town.
Favorite movie theater – De Pere Cinema Café: a hidden gem that offers table service while you watch a movie.
Best place for people watching – Anywhere along College Avenue in downtown Appleton.
Favorite local shop – Hey, Daisy! It has a great selection of fun women’s clothes and accessories.
Favorite coffee shop – A tie between Luna Café in De Pere and Copper Rock in Appleton and Green Bay.
Favorite pizza joint – Gallagher’s Pizza. Their hand-tossed crust is the best.
Favorite city sports moment – Super Bowl XLV. This unexpected run to the title might be the state’s favorite sports moment.
Most heartbreaking city sports moment – The Packers’ 2014 NFC Championship loss to the Seahawks. That one still hurts.
Place to take out-of-town guests – Lambeau Field. With the expansion of the Titletown District, there’s plenty to see and do.
Favorite lesser-known tourist attraction – Bay Beach Amusement Park in Green Bay. Time stands still here, and all tickets are just a quarter.
