Favorite watering hole
Cooper-Garrod Vineyards in the Saratoga hills. You can taste great wine at this family-owned winery, surrounded by vineyards and horses with plenty of tables and easy parking. One year I took my husband on a Valentine’s Day horseback trail ride through the vineyards followed by a wine tasting with chocolate pairing. They called it the perfect date, and it really was.

Local beverage of choice
Local wines from the Santa Cruz Mountains vineyards—especially Cooper-Garrod, Picchetti and Ridge wineries.

Favorite building
The way the pedestrian bridge between two of the Adobe buildings lights up at night.

Best restaurant in downtown San Jose
The Farmers Union—it has the best comfort food and fresh salads, and it’s perfect for client meetings, partner lunch meetings, or any occasion.

Weekend getaway
I love road trips with my husband to Orange County to watch our youngest son play water polo; visit with our oldest son in Long Beach; enjoy walks on the beach; and shop and eat at places like Bella Terra in Huntington Beach or Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach.

Favorite historical sites
Historic mansions like the Winchester Mystery House, the Fallon House and Filoli Historic House & Garden are always amazing to walk through.

Favorite city event
Christmas in the Park in Downtown San Jose, complete with community decorated trees, rides and outdoor ice skating.

Favorite breakfast spot
Any place serving pastries from City Baking Co!

Favorite lunch spot
Main Street Cupertino—lots of great choices.

Favorite takeout
Dish N Dash, Middle Eastern food in Cupertino on Stevens Creek Boulevard.

Best place to reflect
A trail run at Rancho San Antonio County Park—the longer the better. If I’m stressed, the best cure is this perfect combination of a challenging mountain run and time appreciating nature—often with friends and deer, bunnies, wild turkeys, and other wildlife. I try to get there at least twice a week.

Best view
Ridge Vineyards at the top of Montebello Road in Cupertino. I love to run up Montebello Road.

Favorite parks
Rancho San Antonio County Park, and the Los Gatos Creek Trail from Los Gatos to Campbell—fabulous for half-marathon training.

Go-to sports venue
“The Shark Tank,” aka the SAP Center.

Favorite movie theater
The IMAX Dome Theater at The Tech museum.

Best place for people watching
Santana Row. This is also a great place for eating and shopping.

Favorite pizza joint
Pizza My Heart.

Place to take out-of-town guests
Wine tasting at Cooper-Garrod, Picchetti and Ridge wineries. These show off the beauty of living in Silicon Valley: gorgeous natural settings and views only minutes from the bustle of the city.

Favorite city sports moment
The Brock Purdy story: from Mr. Irrelevant to Super Bowl quarterback.

Most heartbreaking city sports moment
The 49ers losing the Super Bowl this year. That was not how the Brock Purdy story was supposed to go! Also, when the Sharks lost in the Stanley Cup Finals in 2016. Sharks hockey is an integral part of working in San Jose and living nearby. I love when the Sharks mascot, Sharkie, leads a parade of fans through downtown to the SAP Center before home games.
